Yes. Say postpaid when you give the meter number. Otherwise Kolet treats it as prepaid, which most meters are.

What if the name on the meter is wrong?

Cancel on the confirmation card. Nothing is charged until you confirm, and a token cannot be reversed after that.

How to buy a prepaid electricity token on WhatsApp (EKEDC, IKEDC, AEDC and more)

Say the disco, the meter number and the amount. Kolet shows you the name on the meter, you confirm, and the token arrives in the chat. Cable TV works the same way.

Buying a prepaid token usually means a bank app, a biller menu, and then hunting through SMS for the digits. On Kolet the token comes back in the same chat you paid from.

Name the disco by its name or its city: Eko, Ikeja, Abuja, Benin, Ibadan, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Kano or Kaduna. Most meters are prepaid, so you only need to say postpaid if yours is. The minimum payment is ₦500, and you choose the amount.

Check the name on the meter

Before taking any money, Kolet verifies the meter with the disco and shows you who it belongs to:

If the name is not the person you expect, tap Cancel. A token bought for the wrong meter cannot be taken back.

Approve

From ₦5,000, Kolet sends a link to a page where you enter your PIN. The link works once and expires in ten minutes, and your PIN never goes into the chat.

EKEDC (Eko, Lagos Island), IKEDC (Ikeja, Lagos Mainland), AEDC (Abuja), BEDC (Benin), IBEDC (Ibadan), EEDC (Enugu), PHEDC (Port Harcourt), KEDCO (Kano) and KAEDCO (Kaduna).

Cable TV too

DSTV, GOtv, Startimes and Showmax renew the same way. Give the provider and the smart card number. Kolet verifies the card, and where the provider shares it, tells you your current package and when it is due, then lists the plans to pick from. Pick one, confirm, and the renewal lands with a receipt.
